History is FUN !

Last week, we dove one of the most popular wreck site, the Kitsugawa Maru also known as the “Kitz”, a Japanese freighter from World War II. What’s so great about this dive site? Look! Do you see it? The large bow gun complete with ammunition is still intact. And you’ll find another at the stern of the wreck. Most areas on the wreck are accessible to explorer, that’s what makes it really exciting. Because after learning the history behind it and then diving it, helps you understand what really went down. But guess what, I’m not going to ruin the surprise for you. Find a buddy and go dive the site.

Welcome to Guam Tropical Dive Station…

Guam is blessed with crystal blue waters, magnificent reefs, wall and wrecks. The underwater world surrounding Guam is magnificent and the variety of diving is on par with anything on earth. Along with an average ocean temperature of 80 degrees, it makes diving pleasant year round. Additionally there’s spectacular wall diving and unparalleled wreck diving. It’s the only place in the world you can touch two ships in one dive: the Cormoran from WWI and Takai Maru from WWII touch each other bow-stern at 100 ft. The Blue Hole is Guam’s signature wall dive with an amazing cavern starting at 65 ft., which enters into an archway at 130 ft.

Guam Tropical Dive Station, one of the largest PADI 5-star facilities on the island, is waiting to take you on an unforgettable adventure amongst their underwater wonders. Our one-stop dive shops have a large retail and rental department providing everything you need for your diving pleasure as well as an excellent and speedy service department. A full range of quality equipment is available including regulators, buoyancy compensators, wetsuits, snorkeling equipment and accessories such as dive knives, compasses, whistles, floats, and much more. We also do air fills, standard compressed air, enriched air (Nitrox) and other mixed gases. GTDS has classes that cater to everyone ranging from beginner scuba diver through to instructor level. Daily boat dives run 7-days a week departing at 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. For non-divers we offer daily “combo tours” which includes dolphin watching, fishing, banana boating, kayaking and snorkeling aboard our spacious 40 passenger vessel.
